Masoud: I Became a Christian Because...

Masoud shares that by becoming a Christian, he has entered into a community of faith and love. Jesus has created for himself a new divine family.

Perhaps you've heard people say that Afghans have become a followers of Jesus, or they are becoming Christians, or people are preaching Christianity...

I don't know what understanding you have of becoming Christian or following Jesus. But Jesus calls all people, including us, Afghans, today, to follow him. Jesus Christ came and told people to come after me. Jesus promises eternal life and peace with God to those who follow him.

When I became a Christian and accepted Christ and got baptized, I thought I was alone, maybe there were no Afghan Christians, and this seemed like a shame to me. But soon I realized that many Afghans are Christians. Today, you and I have many Afghans who are followers of Jesus Christ and have formed a beautiful divine family of faith full of love, inviting all our fellow Afghans into the embrace of Christ and the church.

By becoming Christians, we obey God, and there is no way to eternal life, no salvation from sins, other than following Jesus or believing in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ declared and taught this. Jesus Christ said, "I have come that the world may have life."

The Holy Gospel in the Book of Acts, chapter 4, verse 12 says, "Salvation comes only through Jesus. No name other than Jesus has been given to people under heaven by which we must be saved."

There is only one way under heaven to enter heave, and there is only the name of Jesus that when you call it in faith, you too enter heave; you too take your place in the kingdom of God.

My brothers and sisters and fellow Afghans! Today, as the Afghan Church, as Afghans who have believed in Jesus Christ, we invite you, our beloved Afghans, who are part of our flesh and bone, to believe in Jesus Christ and experience the miracle of Jesus in your life. Receive his healing so that your sins are forgiven by the holy blood of Jesus and you become the owner of eternal life.
