Introduction

Dear esteemed readers, beloved fellow Afghans, and dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

Accept our heartfelt greetings and best wishes from the Afghan Journal of Theology team.

We thank God for granting us this opportunity to serve you, and especially to serve those of our Afghan brothers and sisters who have not yet heard the message of Christ's salvation.

Reflecting and contemplating on God and His word is the greatest honor and responsibility for the Church of Christ. The primary goal of this theological journal is to foster your spiritual growth by encouraging deeper contemplation of God and His Word. The Afghan Church is growing in its understanding of God and Christian theology. However, erroneous theology can lead to the collapse of any new born church. With the help and power of the Holy Spirit, we aim to equip the Afghan Church to serve as humble theologians, educated ministers, devoted servants, and asipiring future leaders, fulfilling the mission entrusted to us by Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:28-20), in a manner worthy of His name.

Additionally, through the writing of articles covering diverse subjects like Christian life, ministry, leadership, family dynamics, and the personal stories and testimonies of believers, our goal is to inspire and support both recently transformed Afghan and those who have threaded along way into their faith journey.

Moreover, our desire is to become acquainted with you, our readers, who serve as ministers and members of the Afghan churches, dispersed across the globe. We seek to stay informed about matters pertaining to the growth and challanges in the Afghan church, its spirituality and its theology. Kindly share your concerns with us, enabling us to provide guidance, Bible-centered responses, and collective prayers to address them effectively.

A further aim of releasing this journal is to present the Word of God and familiarize Afghans with Jesus and the Christian faith, aiming to establish believers in their faith and help those who have not encountered the message of salvation or have recently embraced Jesus Christ to come to a saving knowledge in the God. Our desire is for everyone to gradually acquaint themselves with the beliefs, practices, festivities, and perspectives of Afghan Christians, discovering the true way, truth, and life. Most importantly, we pray that Afghans would commit their lives to the compassionate Lord, Jesus Christ, progressing in their faith journey with Christ one step at a time, ultimately becoming a source for growth and inspiration to fellow believers in the future.

As we have been transformed by the grace of the Lord and the message of salvation in Christ has reached our ears, it is now our responsibility to share this good news with the world! Without the efforts of others, who wrote and spoke to us the Good News, we would not have had the opportunity to hear about Christ! Therefore, we humbly request you to share your experiences, testimonies of faith, life events before and after accepting Christ, insights about your church and family, both positive and negative characters from the Bible, theological writings, stories, poems, worship songs, and anything else you believe would benefit other Afghans! 

It is not necessary to be a professional writer or use complex words or vocabulary in your writing at a high literary level; just express yourself as simply and sincerely as you can!  Sometimes, profound theological works may not touch someone's heart, but a few simple and heartfelt words can lead them to be reconciled with the Lord!

So roll up your sleeves and write from the bottom of your heart in any language you are most proficient in: Dari, Pashto, Hazaragi, Uzbek, etc! We eagerly await your articles, essays, opinions, suggestions, and constructive criticisms to enhance the content of the Afghan Journal of Theology, sent to the magazine's email address!
