Whose Nation Are You?

Whose Nation Are You?

Muslims find their identity in belonging to Muhammad's "tribe" or "nation". Our friend has asked, whose nations are you? Whose community do you belong to?

Transcript:

Our friend has asked: "To which nation do you belong as Christians?" Thank you, dear friend, for this excellent question. We find the answer to this question in the Holy Book. The first epistle of Peter, chapter two, verse nine, says: "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." We are followers of Jesus Christ, the chosen people of God. Many might think that once someone becomes a Christian, they cannot be Afghan anymore. But this is a misconception. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I am from Afghanistan. But more importantly, my identity is not solely as an Afghan; it is also that I belong to the people and nation of God.

"I am neither from this city nor that city, I am from that eternal city".
