Did Jesus Claim to Be the Son of God

Did Jesus Claim to Be the Son of God

Did Jesus ever claim to be the Son of God? This video carefully explores clear Bible verses showing Jesus’ own words and the response of religious leaders in the Gospels.

Transcript:

This friend of ours wrote: “Dear brother, God is merciful to all creation.”

Dear friend, I completely believe that. God is merciful to all human beings and to all creation, not just to Christians.

I believe this because the Word of God says, “God’s rain of mercy falls equally on the good and the bad, and His sun shines equally on both.”

But he continues, “I’ve read the Bible, and nowhere does Jesus say, ‘I am the Son of God.’ So why do you claim that He did?”

I don’t agree with this claim. Because when we read the Holy Gospel, we see again and again that Jesus Christ refers to Himself as the Son of God and calls God His Father.

For example, in the Gospel of John, chapter 10, verse 30, He says, “I and the Father are one.”

We also see a very clear example in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 14. In verse 61, the high priest questions Jesus. But before that, let’s read a few verses together. In Mark 14:60, it says the high priest stood up and questioned Him. Then in verse 61, he directly asks: “Are you the Son of the Blessed One?”

Jesus could have said, “No, I am not.” But look at what He says. He replies, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

Now listen to how the high priest reacts. He tore his garments and said, “Why do we need any more witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy. What is your verdict?” And they all condemned Him as deserving death.

So Jesus very clearly says that He is the Son of God. He is the Messiah, the one promised in the Old Testament, who came to save humanity. The high priest understood this.

Our plea to you is this: please read the Holy Gospel for yourself before making claims about what Jesus did or did not say.

A dear Afghan sister has asked us the reason why I have become a follower of Jesus. There is no one answer to this question, but a thousand reasons!

Many Afghans repeatedly say that the Holy scriptures have been abrogated. They believe every holy book other than the Quran is abrogated.

How Many Chapters Does the Gospels Have?

A friend claimed the Gospel has twelve chapters and mentioned a prophet named Ahmad. We corrected their misunderstandings and advised them to read the Gospel themselves.
